Pikachu Hoodie

Well I finally finished it. It's my Pikachu Hoodie! Pikachu loves it.
It took me approximately 8 hours to complete. I used a white jacket that I bought and color Sharpies. I MacGyvered a lightbox from a cardboard box, bendable neck lamp, and my mom's glass table cover from her nightstand. Pretty cool, huh? The Pikachu is from the Pikachu DS box.

Yes. I used Pepsi cans to hold the jacket in place over the image. Also, the lighting bolt is the same Lighting symbol from the Pokemon Trading Card Game. The Lighting Energy card.

Here's a very bad picture of the finished Pikachu on the back of the jacket. Sorry I took it with my camera phone. My camera was back at my apartment. But you can still see all of Pikachu's cuteness, so that's all that counts.

A new school

Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to attend an Open House for the Art Institute Houston-North. It's a branch of the Art Institute Houston located by the Galleria and it's a lot smaller. But it's really cool. I'm going to be going for my Bachelor's Degree in Photography there.

I always thought I'd go to school till I get my Associates and then that would be it for my schooling. So I'm really glad I can get on a program at a school to do what I want to do and get further in it than I thought I could. So I'm really excite, but still a little nervous.

Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver

Today's the release of the new Pokemon games in Japan. Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

I spent a lot of time playing the original Pokemon Silver on the Gameboy Color when it was finally released. So I'll be very excited when these remakes hit the stores in the States. I'm always thrilled with remakes. Especially when my favorite games are remade with better graphics and sounds. And being on the DS will take these games places the Gameboy couldn't with integrating the DS touch screen and the capabilities of 3D graphics.

But what I'm really excited about is this new gadget called the PokeWalker.

Technically it's a pedometer/tamagotchi virtual pet device in which you can store a Pokemon from you HeartGold or SoulSilver Pokemon game. The PokeWalker is packed with the game when you buy them.

Anyway, after you store your Pokemon in the PokeWalker, the more you walk around with it, the more Experience Points the Pokemon gains. Hence the pedometer part. Your Pokemon can also find items as you walk, even rare items. I hope the PokeWalker also makes it to the States when the English version of the games arrive.

Hello! This is my first post on my new blog.

I guess it's probably best to tell you a little about myself.

My name is Kayla! I'm 21 years old. I like photography, drawing, and writing stories. I also play a lot of video games. I play all kinds, like RPGs and online games too. I'm really a kid at heart. One of those people who never want to grow up.

I like watching anime and reading manga. Oh, and I love Pokemon. Yeah, that show with the little yellow mouse that was so popular ten years ago. Yep, ten years later I'm still a huge fan. lol, I admit it so don't hold it against me.

Well that's all for introductions for right now.

Anyway, It's rather late right now. Tomorrow...(rather today, already past midnight) I have to get up to go to an Open House at a new college. I'm taking another direction for school trying to get back on track.

I'm also excited, because I'm trying to make a new shirt. It's gonna be a Pikachu shirt. (yeah the little yellow mouse thing above.) I spent all evening trying to make a good traceable template.

So I have a lot of things to do later. See ya!
